Heart of Kalimdor. by Miakhano Heart of Kalimdor. by Miakhano
EN:
This art piece resides here.

Where is the most lovely place of Kalimdor, where is its heart? Everyone knows answer, but personal answer, all answers are different. For first one heart of Kalimdor located in green Mulgore, for other one in spinneys of Ashenvale forest, for next one in calm of Darkshore. It can be soulful Feralas or dear Moonglade, or even tough deserts of Durotar. But I want to distinguish a place, where rich nature of western continent meets crowded island of civilization the Crossroads.

PS. Here is animated making process:

PPS. Also you can take a look at my view on Feralas:

Этот же рисунок на моём сайте.

Где самое родное место, самое сердце континента Калимдор? У каждого свой ответ. Для одного это холмы Мулгора, для другого заросли Ясеневого леса, для третьего спокойствие Тёмных Берегов. Это может быть и Фералас и Лунная Поляна и даже пустыни Дуротара. Но всё-таки хочется вспомнить о месте, где на равных сотрудничают несколько рас, где богатая природа западного континента соседствует с людным островком цивилизации Перекрёстком.

Dont know why but it reminds me loooooots of things. The wind, the roads, the memories of somebody, all gone,by the very first eye of the World of Warcraft we roled in

You got idea of Crossroads very well. That's why this place is so remarkable - here calm and changeless nature meet turbulent life. Here you face your first experiences in WoW, here you meet players, here you learn major things, here your game process is focused on contemplation and communication. When you visit this place again and again, you see the same place, the same nature, NPS's and buildings, you feel same essence and all your memories come alive.

Well, I figured it out from the point of tauren, orcish, troll and maybe goblin players. They all have to start their first experiences there. Not only Alliance players, but also forsaken and sindorai have another path. :) Also something personal may play a role, something from your private memories, which I don't know.

Yes,about some private things which could be considered romantic at that time when nothing to be told now:)
I think we can be friends. Thx for your kindly words.I'll watch your new works.

Honestly, I have little to no critique on this piece. It's very well done, I love the style you used, I love the wideness you've given the Barrens, and how you show 2/3rd of the aspects of the Barrens: The grass, the Crossroads themselves, the cobblestone road, the trees, the plainstrider, the bramblebushes, the roadsign, the zeppelin in the air.

I take my hat off to this piece. VERY well done.
If I may ask, how long has this piece taken you?

Thank you so much for such a honorific assessment. Well, it took nearly 14-15 hours of work totally. It's the total count. There were long interruptions, so that between the sketch and the final was no less than three days.

That's fairly quick for what seems to be a very 'big' piece with so much details.

I still take my hat off to a wonderful piece :)
:iconepicclapplz: And you get an insane applause.

Thanks again for such an inspiring review. :) Well, maybe this one was less or more quick painting, but on the whole I am terribly slowpoke. And most of my problems happens on final 20% of painting process. I have SO freakin many of unfinished works, you won't believe. :)

I strongly recommend you to visit her :iconfagberry: gallery. I think, you would like it. She paint really quickly and at the same time magnificently.

I know the feeling, there's a dutch saying which goes "De laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst".. which basically means that the last weights weigh the most... or the final bits of a task or job are heaviest and slowest. I have *big, grand gesture* shit-tons of unfinished work, from drawings to crafts and stories.

Oooh, always a fan of recommendations, will certainly take a quick look. I smirked at the icon alone, so that's promising. ;)
Thank you :)

I believe it is both Mulgore and the Barrens because the Tauren were the ones tending to the earth along with the Night Elves, but the Tauren did nothing to disturb or manipulate it. Tauren lived in those general plains areas before just settling permanent claim on Mulgore.

So you are one who understand me. :) I like trinity of Mulgore, The Barrens and Feralas and consider them to be main part of Kalimdor. I already have drawn last two in the past and just right now I have submitted picture of Mulgore (though it is focused more on character, than environment).
